Ready to get involved and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our children?

At Blake Academy, we welcome volunteers during the day and on Field trips.  Volunteers must have approval from the district and attend volunteer orientation each year. Staff may request that parents accompany their child on a field trip and will notify parents in advance of the trip.

Here’s how to become an approved Polk County Public Schools volunteer:

1. Complete the online volunteer application

Complete the District Volunteer Application and submit your online payment of $25. This fee covers your background check.

2. Wait for your application to process

Once your application has been processed, you will be notified about your approval status within three weeks.

3. Get your ID badge and attend the orientation

Get your identification badge from your school and attend a school volunteer orientation.

Approved volunteers seeking to transport students in their private vehicles must complete an additional application found below.

There are Many Ways to Get Involved

Whether you’re seeking to become an approved volunteer to help multiple children, you’re a parent interested in being more active in your child’s education, or you’re a student seeking community service hours, Polk County Public Schools has lots of options for you to get involved.
